Guess who's house is for sale?!? Yup, that's right!!!!!! The house is all done and on the market!
Staging the house is the best part yet! The bedrooms looked a little bare.
And not wanting to ding up the freshly smoothed and painted walls by hauling a mattress and box spring set upstairs, I improvised:
Let's just hope nobody plops down on the air mattress, laundry basket, bed!
The bedrooms are both fairly big and I am considering bringing in more props. Although, I want them to look spacious and sometimes, as in this case possibly-- less is more.
Really, I have no clue at all how to stage this house, other than a few tips I've read online. So, wish me luck!!! ;-)
The other bedroom just has pretty curtains up so far.
I may stage this room as well, we shall see.
Once again, I put Mom to work! I think she is looking forward to retiring. :-)
I could see a nice reading nook up here on the landing:
As for the main floor, the front room doesn't have much in it either:
I picked up a couple of chairs at Goodwill for $10.00 and tried to clean them. They look clean in the picture, but I wasn't satisfied with the results. So, I painted them purple. I used a fabric medium and latex permanent paint.
I also made the cutesy/rustic sign over the doorway:
Both projects turned out well, and I am pleased with the results.
I made the throw pillows and put Mom's white bed spread over the sofa. Word is, white is the clean and calm color.
The kitchen doesn't have any props yet, but will soon.
I was able to use my table and chair set from home for the dining room. Mom crocheted the tablecloth and I crocheted place mats & glass cozies.
The sweet little breakfast nook has freshly potted paper whites. The goal here is to sell the house before the flowers bloom! Let's see if that will happen!!!
The realtor advised listing the house for $63,000. I happily took her advice.
