Inside the Fixer Upper

Hey There!  Come on in!  WAIT!!!!  Ya might wanna take a deep breath of fresh air first!

The inside of the house is not so fresh-- that's putting it nicely.  The walls are filthy and ooze with unknown goo.

The bathroom is the worst room in the house.

I may need to look into a new tub surround.

Here's a pic of the kitchen floor:

I like the built-in cupboard.

The stove may be getting a new home.

I am sooo excited about transforming this house into someplace nice.

Top on the list is to install deadbolt locks and a sturdy back door.

The actual back door, still uses a skeleton key.

The bathroom ceiling:

The ceiling upstairs around the chimney:

The tenants left behind quite a bit of stuff.

The two bedrooms are as gross as the rest of the house.

I felt bad for the little girl that had to live here:

The windows look like they are in fairly decent shape, with the exception of one broken pane on the main level.

It appears the gutters could use a cleaning.  Luckily the roof is in good shape!

A stairwell that has wallpaper stapled up-- really?

How about that basement?

Lots of stuff down here.  What is in all those tubs?

Yay, the hot water heater is new!  Yay, the furnace is decent!

Umm, this water could be a prob:

I see a little masonry work is needed.

Sump pump is looking full.

The basement has sustained some long standing water damage.  Yuck.

Sheesh-- Why people-- why?

Not my best work, but it'll do for today's rain shower:

The walls in this house sure are banged up!

It looks like I may get to try painting the sink!  Or, I may just put in a new one.

The kitchen cupboards look better than I had expected.  Anyone wanna pickle?

The first day, right after closing, Mom and I picked up all kinds of trash!

We shoveled out the living room.

The basement door is short.

That's it for now!  I shall keep everyone posted of the progress.  Wish me luck!  ;-)
